AICC general secretary in charge Punjab Affairs Bhuphesh Baghel will chair a meeting of the district presidents and Political Affairs Committee here tomorrow.

On his second visit to Punjab, Baghel is expected to discuss the recent incidents of indiscipline in the state unit, especially holding of rallies by PPCC chief at Sultanpur Lodhi and a parallel rally organised by independent MLA Rana Inder Partap Singh, who is son of Congress MLA Rana Gurjeet.

Ahead of Baghel’s visit, the chairman of the Punjab Congress Campaign Committee and former Punjab Legislative Assembly Speaker Rana KP Singh today dismissed that there was any factionalism in the party.

Rana said the Congress leadership knows where to draw line between discipline and freedom to speak. “It is not binding on everyone to agree with everyone else as long as the particular leader does not breach the party discipline or goes against the party’s core ideology,” he added.
