Terming the Electoral Bond Scheme as one of the biggest scams in the country, the Leader of the Opposition (LoP), Partap Singh Bajwa, sought an impartial probe into the matter.

Bajwa said that the Supreme Court in its verdict had already called the Electoral Bond Scheme unconstitutional. The BJP received more money than 30 political parties combined.

“Out of total electoral bonds worth Rs 12,979 crore till April 2023, the BJP received bonds worth Rs 6,566.12 crore. The BJP received more than 50 per cent of all electoral bonds. This is a matter of grave concern and it has to be investigated if the ruling party gave undue favours to some business houses,” Bajwa added.

He said the BJP-led government even changed the company laws and income tax rules to get donations from corporate houses.
