Punjab Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) president and Cabinet Minister Aman Arora on Wednesday slammed Leader of the Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa for resorting to personal attacks, instead of cooperating with the police for the investigation into his “50-grenades-have-reached-Punjab” claim.

Addressing mediapersons here, Arora termed Bajwa’s claim “politically motivated” and aimed at “creating panic” among people.

Reacting to Bajwa’s “personal” comments against him allegedly “over a family dispute”, Arora said, “I have never indulged in personal attacks or frivolous politics. My statements have always been rooted in issues concerning Punjab’s welfare.”

He again referred to a 2014 letter by Amarinder Singh to Sonia Gandhi, which alleged links between Bajwa and drug smugglers and terrorists. “Bajwa should explain why such allegations were made against him,” said Arora. He revisited incidents from the 1990 to 92, involving a Khalistan Liberation Force terrorist, Manjit Singh Qadian.

“Bajwa should recall the revelations made during the interrogation of this terrorist, including conspiracies to target top Congress leaders and officials, and the connections to explosive-laden vehicles. These matters were covered by a national magazine and Bajwa must explain his association with such events,” he said.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Bajwa said the matter was sub-judice, thus he could not comment on the issue.
