The Punjab government on Tuesday appointed Baldev Singh Sran as the chairman-cum-managing director (CMD) of the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), for the second time after he completed his two-year tenure in 2020.
The retired PSPCL chief engineer has a 35-year experience of working in different positions in the power corporation.
He was the president of PSEB Engineers Association for five years.
A Venu Prasad, an IAS officer, was holding the post ever since a regular appointment was not made.
He was instrumental in reducing expenditures as chief engineer at the Bathinda thermal plant. Later, he ensured record hydro generation as chief engineer, Hydro, which was his last posting before he retired earlier in 2018.
Later was appointed as CMD for a two-year tenure.
