To improve the results of government schools across the district, Deputy Commissioner Tej Partap Singh Phoolka has taken an initiative by adopting two students of Class X of Government Senior Secondary School, Sekha. He has also asked other officials to adopt students of various classes to prepare them for exams. The ADC has also adopted two students.
The DC announced his decision today during a felicitation ceremony of government school students who have excelled in house examinations.
The DC said the initiative was purely on voluntary basis and the administrative and Education Department officials would personally ensure required coaching and other required material like books to students for better results in board exams. He said his initiative would instill confidence among students and also help improve the results of government schools.
“I have adopted two students of Class X of Government Senior Secondary School, Sekha. I have told other officers that they should also help students,” he added.
The DC has directed officials concerned to ensure that benefits of various government schemes should reach students. “Officials should not adopt students under any pressure, but they should only adopt them if they are really serious to provide them coaching,” the DC said.
