Coming down heavily on the Amloh BDPO for not recommending action against the panchayat secretary involved in the embezzlement of PIDB funds, Deputy Commissioner Amrit Kaur Gill today directed ADC(D) to move a case for the dismissal of the erring official.
The matter came to the DC’s notice at the monthly review meeting of all departments. She also sought explanation from the BDPO as to why utilisation certificates of the PIDB funds had not been submitted. The DC said government funds were being misused by panchayat secretaries and one of them had managed to go abroad.
The BDPO was asked why the matter was not reported to the higher officials. The DC directed the ADC(D) to take immediate action against all erring officials.
She said removal of encroachments from panchayat and government lands was the government’s priority, asking officials to address the grievances of people in a time-bound manner. The DC said to provide clean drinking water to 20 villages, water supply lines were being laid and the project cost Rs 6.40 crore. To provide quality education, 410 out of 439 schools had been converted into smart institutions, she added.
