Be extra vigilant, dept to boiler owners
Chandigarh, May 11
Sibin C, Director, Industries and Commerce, Punjab, has advised all industries using boilers to be extra cautious while restarting their operations.
In a statement issued here today, he said after the lockdown was lifted and industries resumed their operations, the boiler users were advised to be extra vigilant, follow all safety protocols and stick to proper procedure as prescribed in the Indian Boiler Regulations, 1950, to avoid any accident.
It was also advised that boilers, pipelines and valves should be once tested before using them. Also, employees working on the boilers must be made aware of the risks involved.
Besides this, startup or operation of the boilers should be carried out under the supervision of boiler operation engineers or boiler attendants as per the rules.
