Bhagwant Mann falls ill; cancels visit with Kejriwal to flood-affected Punjab
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has reportedly fallen ill, according to a senior official from the Chief Minister's Office.
Mann is reportedly suffering from high fever, caused by a viral infection. Doctors are attending to him at his residence. An official said that he should be fine by the evening and would be chairing the meeting of Punjab cabinet on Friday.
Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, who arrived in Punjab on Wednesday evening to assess the flood-hit areas, visited Mann’s official residence on Thursday to enquire about his health.
Mann was scheduled to tour the flood-affected Sultanpur Lodhi with Kejriwal on Thursday. Many villages in the area are affected by floods. The CM has now cancelled his visit.
Sources said while Mann would be unable to tour, senior party leaders, including party president Aman Arora, would now accompany Kejriwal.
Further details about the chief minister's condition are awaited.
