Bhangra, laddoos at Bhagwant Mann's native village Satauj

As Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann got married, residents of his native village Satauj celebrated with much fanfare. Women sang Punjabi folk songs, while men danced on bhangra beats and distributed “laddoos”.

“The entire village is rejoicing in the happy moments of Bhagwant Mann, who is the son of Satauj. As he enters a new phase of his life, our best wishes are with him,” said Rishi, a youth from Satauj village.

Elderly woman Labh Kaur, who sang Punjabi traditional songs with much enthusiasm, said: “The majority of women have joined the celebrations. By becoming the Chief Minister, Bhagwant has brought laurels to our village. But we still felt something was missing in his life. With the grace of God, he has been married.”

Another woman Balwinder Kaur said that during his last visit to Satauj, Mann interacted with them about the problems of the village and assured them of taking effective steps.

“Bhagwant always greets village residents with respect. We expect that he and his wife will visit Satauj soon,” she said.

Apart from youth and elderly persons, children were seen dancing on popular Punjabi songs.
