Bikram Majithia’s wife Ganieve claims 30 people stormed house during raid, commandos all over, area cordoned off
A team of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau--led by SSP Vigilance Amritsar range Lakhbir Singh--raided the house of former Punjab minister and senior Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia at the posh Green Avenue locality here on Wednesday.
The vigilance officials have been tight-lipped over the raid. However, Bikram Majithia posted a video on X and other social media handles in this regard. He was seen arguing with the Vigilance officials.
He was meeting several people in the house when the vigilance sleuths entered.
He said a large number of people in plain clothes, claiming to be vigilance officials, barged into the house this morning.
Ganieve Kaur Majithia, SAD MLA and wife of Bikram Majithia, alleged that around 30 people barged into the house. No media was allowed to enter the house after the raid.
While the vigilance team was still in Majithia’s house, heavy police presence, including a team of commandos, was deployed a few meters away from his house, cordoning off the area and not allowing media or others to come near Majithia's residence.
On his social media account, Majithia said that when the Punjab government, headed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, found nothing in the alleged false drug cases against him, they are now trying to implicate him in other fabricated cases.
While naming Bhagwant Mann, he said, “No matter how many false and fabricated cases you file against me, I will not fear and continue to raise the voice of the people of Punjab.”
