The BKU (Ekta Ugrahan), which has been holding sit-ins outside offices of Deputy Commissioners for past several days, has decided to put off their protest, saying the government has started implementing some of their demands. Sukhdev Singh Kokrikalan, general secretary of the union, said protests at toll plazas (which have not rolled back the hiked charges) would continue. “We will take up the remaining demands with the new government,” he said. — TNS
