Office-bearers and activists of various units of Bharti Kisan Union (Ugrahan) will participate in rail roko action scheduled on Thursday, besides supporting Bharat Bandh on Friday and pucca morcha at Chandigarh with effect from February 24.
The announcement was made in a protest meeting held at Ranwan village near here today. State vice-president Janak Singh Bhutal and Hardeep Singh Tallewal represented the state president Joginder Singh Ugrahan.
Speakers alleged that successive Union Governments and the state governments had failed to protect rights and interests of small and marginal farmers of the state.
Condemning the aggressive action of Haryana Police against protestors marching peacefully to Delhi on Tuesday, Bhutal said office-bearers and activists of various units have been apprised of the decision to organise rail roko from 12 PM to 4 PM at 15 places in the state.
Speakers alleged the AAP had also betrayed farmers by making fake promises to harness political power. “The AAP had made tall promises with us during the election but none of our demands have been accepted,” said a farmer leader maintaining that the decision to organise pucca morcha at Chandigarh was taken in protest against Punjab Government.
