Body of missing boy found in canal after six days
The body of Arman, a boy who had been missing from the Government Seed Farm area in Abohar for six days, was recovered today from a canal near the village of Jandwala Mira Sangla. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams had been conducting a search operation in the canal for several days before locating the body.
Arman’s family had staged a road blockade at Malout Chowk yesterday, accusing that their son had been kidnapped and murdered. The protest lasted for several hours, but police later assured the family that action would be taken against the suspects, leading to the end of the blockade.
Gurjit Singh, Arman’s father, informed the police that his son had been called from home by Narinder Singh Nindi and Akash Khand, both from Udham Singh Nagar. When Arman did not return by evening, a search was launched but no trace of him was found. Gurjit Singh suspects that the two individuals and their unknown accomplices were responsible for his son’s death.
Following the family’s complaint, the police registered a case against the two suspects under Sections 103, 238, and 3(5) of the BNS. The police and NDRF team continued searching, and today, Arman’s body was discovered in the canal. The body has been taken to the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Further action will be taken based on the results of the post-mortem report, the police confirmed.
