Gurdaspur SSP Aditya and a team of senior police officials reached the village in the morning and assessed the situation. A dog squad was also pressed into service. Police officials only said that “they were investigating the matter”. The sound of the explosion was so loud that it was heard by people travelling on the Gurdaspur-Mukerian road, nearly 1 km away from the spot where the debris was found.
