Boney Ajnala back into SAD fold, attends rally

Amritsar, February 13

Former SAD MLA Amarpal Singh Boney Ajnala ‘officially’ returned to the SAD fold today. He was welcomed by SAD patron Parkash Singh Badal at a party rally in Rajasansi. Suspense persists whether or not his father Dr Rattan Singh Ajnala, who skipped the rally, plans “ghar wapsi” like his son.

Sources said party chief Sukhbir Singh Badal visited the Ajnalas at their residence. After a closed-door meeting, he announced that differences with the Ajnala family had been resolved. Sukhbir later drove to the venue of ‘rosh rally’ along with Boney Ajnala.

The latter claimed the SAD (Taksali) was a group of Congress-sponsored leaders and that he was happy to return to the party fold. He reiterated that senior leaders SS Dhindsa and RS Brahmpura, who had been awarded plum positions, had “backstabbed the party at the instance of anti-Panthic forces”. — TNS
