Abohar, August 19
To make BSF personnel feel they were not far away from their native places on the day of Raksha Bandhan, Brahma Kumaris today celebrated the festival by visiting the Sector Headquarters of the Border Security Force at Abohar.
After applying tilak to the forehead of DIG Vijay Kumar, Sector HQ Commandant SK Mishra, along with other officers and soldiers, tied Rakhis prepared on Mount Abu and served home-made sweets as well. They also tied Rakhis to the women border guards. Divine gifts, literature, and sweets were presented to the DIG and other officers on the occasion.
The BK local centre deputy chief, Darshana, said that no amount of praise would be enough for BSF personnel who perform their duty of securing the nation without caring about their own safety. She said the security forces have not only contributed to protecting the borders but have also played an important role in curbing the smuggling of drugs, which weakens the country’s youth. — OC
