AI helps Punjab Govt save Rs 383 cr in road repair: Survey

Chandigarh: The use of artificial intelligence (AI) to identify the roads requiring repair helped the government save Rs 383 crore, according to a government survey. Using videography of some portions of the roads and combining it with the AI to assess the condition of the entire length of the stretch, the government could identify that many roads did not need repair. A total of 3,369 link roads were to be repaired at a cost of Rs 1,557.58 crore. After the survey, the number of roads eligible for repair reduced to 2,526. TNS

Elderly shopkeeper dies by suicide in Sriganganagar

Abohar: A 60-year-old businessman died by suicide inside his shop in busy Sadar Bazar of Sriganganagar in Rajasthan on Sunday. The victim, identified as Ranveer Middha, was alone in his shop. The police said the victim’s son did not suspect any foul play. The body was handed over to the kin after an autopsy. OC
