Briefs: 10-yr RI for 3 drug smugglers

Fazilka: Special Court Judge Ajit Pal Singh has sentenced three inter-state drug smugglers to 10-year rigorous imprisonment. Sources said Sona Singh, Chiman Singh and Sumit Kumar were arrested and 260 gm heroin seized from them on April 24, 2022. The trio, who used to source heroin from Jammu and Kashmir, were caught while travelling in a car on the Ferozepur-Fazilka road. An FIR was registered at the Amair Khas police station under the NDPS Act. A fine of Rs 1 lakh each was also imposed on the convicts. oc

Mohali: Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria and his family members and staff watched Akshay Kumar starrer "Kesari Chapter-2" movie at a Sector 67 shopping mall on Saturday evening. Seeds godown sealed

Muktsar: Agriculture Department officials on Friday evening raided several seed stores in Gidderbaha town and sealed the godown of a firm for allegedly operating without approval. Chief Agriculture Officer Dr Karanjit Singh said the raid was conducted on the basis of some complaints. tns
