Briefs: 2 arrested in murder case

Mansa: The Mansa police on Thursday claimed to have arrested two persons in connection with a murder case. Satnam Singh (36) of Ferozepur was killed during a clash here on June 23. SSP Bhagirath Singh Meena said Lakhwinder Singh and Karandeep Singh had been arrested. A preliminary probe revealed the murder was linked to a dispute over a dog race. TNS

Two women murdered

Moga: Two women were murdered in separate incidents in Moga villages on Thursday. In the first case, Rukhi Khan allegedly bludgeoned his wife Parveen (28) to death at Dhillwan Wala village. In the second incident in Balkhandi village under the Kot Ise Khan police limits, Jaspal Singh allegedly killed his daughter-in-law, Lovepreet Kaur (30), by hitting her with an iron rod following a domestic dispute.
