Briefs: Court grants relief to Rahul, other MPs

Pathankot: A Pathankot court has granted reprieve to Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, AICC president Malikarjun Kharge, PPCC president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring and 98 MPs by temporarily discharging them in a case filed by a local advocate. The orders were passed by Ravneet Kaur Bedi, Judicial Magistrate (First class), Pathankot. The next hearing will be held on April 19.

BJP appoints Khanna as bypoll incharge

Chandigarh: The Punjab BJP on Saturday appointed former MP and senior party leader Avinash Rai Khanna as the party incharge for the upcoming Ludhiana (West) Assembly bypoll. The party also appointed former union minister Vijay Sampla as the co-incharge, according to a statement. The schedule for the bypoll has not been announced yet.
