Abohar: A 21-year-old youth from Abohar was apprehended in Hanumangarh for carrying heroin in his car. A team led by police station in-charge Subhash Kachhwa stopped the vehicle near Chak 12-HMH village late last night and seized heroin.

Student hurt by pellet

Malerkotla: The police have launched an investigation into an incident where a student from the Government College for Education sustained a pellet injury during the institute’s convocation and annual prize distribution function on Saturday. “Upon examining the student, a pellet-like object was found lodged near his neck. He was given necessary treatment and referred to Rajindra Hospital in Patiala,” said Dr Jagjit Singh, SMO at the Malerkotla Civil Hospital.
