Fazilka: The state government has drawn a pilot project to solve the issue of waterlogging in Fazilka district. Duped of Rs 60 lakh, alleges travel agent
Abohar: A case has been registered at the Jawahar Nagar police station in Sriganganagar against the operator of a Chandigarh-based immigration agency and his partners for allegedly duping an immigration consultant of Rs 60 lakh by handing him "fake visas and air tickets" of Australia and Canada. Complainant Tarun Bishnoi has accused Balraj Meel of Muklana, Malshika of Hisar, Komal of Khedi Faridabad and Mohit Saharan of Sriganganagar of fraud and forgery. — OC
Bodies of woman, daughter found
Abohar: The bodies of a woman and her daughter, who had gone missing 10 days ago, have been found in a canal in Sriganganagar. Parents of the deceased woman, Vandana, blamed her in-laws for the incident and refused to cremate the body until the police arrested them. Her parents said Vandana’s in-laws used to taunt her for giving birth to a girl child. — OC
Cop slaps sarpanch, suspended
Abohar: A police official was placed under suspension and shifted to the Police Lines after Seed Farm panchayat sarpanch alleged that he was slapped by him on Tuesday evening. People held a protest outside the police post, demanding action against ASI Pappu Ram, who was posted at the City-1 police station in Abohar. — OC
