Five relief camps set up for border villagers in Fazilka

Fazilka: With evacuation gaining momentum in Fazilka border areas, the local administration has set up five relief camps to accommodate people. According to a letter issued by Fazilka Tehsildar Jaspreet Singh, the camps have been set up at MR Government College, Government Senior School for Boys, Sant Kabir Polytechnic College (Jat Wali village), Government Senior Secondary School (Lalowali village) and the ITI, Fazilka. Medical and veterinary teams have been deployed at these camps, besides ensuring proper supply of water, eatables, power etc. oc

Leave of IAS, PCS, revenue officers cancelled

Chandigarh: The Punjab Government on Friday cancelled leave of all IAS, PCS and district revenue officers, including tehsildars and naib tehsildars. A senior government functionary said no officer would leave his station without approval of the competent authority. All leave approved so far also stood cancelled. TNS

National Lok Adalat deferred

Chandigarh: The National Lok Adalat scheduled to be held on May 10 in the Punjab and Haryana High Court stands deferred. The decision follows an official communication received from the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), New Delhi. The new date is yet to be announced. TNS
