Sangrur: Cabinet minister Barinder Kumar Goyal on Sunday flagged off PRTC buses on two new routes from the Lehragaga bus stand, about 40 km from Sangrur. One bus will depart from the Lehragaga bus stand for Hoshiarpur at 6.45 am daily, while the second one will ply between Khanauri and Moonak daily. OC

Cop’s car rams into scooter, two hurt

Sriganganagar: Two women were injured, one of them critically, after a car hit the scooter that they were riding near the old sugar mill in Sriganganagar on Saturday evening. The car involved in the accident is owned by ASI Vijayinder Kumar, incharge of the Sadhuwali police post. OC

BDPO removed

Fazilka: More than a week after the suspension of Dharminder Singh, Executive Engineer, Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Fazilka, on the allegation of dereliction of duty, the government has now shunted Nirmal Singh from the post of Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO), Fazilka, on administrative grounds. He has been asked to report at the headquarters in Chandigarh. OC
