Ferozepur: The BSF troops have seized two drones along the Indo-Pakistan border in this sector. A search operation was launched on Wednesday following a tipoff and a DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone was found in a field near Palha Megha village along the zero line. Later, another DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone was found stuck in the barbed wire fencing near Gendu Kilcha village in the district.

Sood assumes charge as PSTCL Director (Technical)

Patiala: Sanjeev Kumar Sood assumed charge as Director (Technical) of the Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited (PSTCL) on Wednesday. His appointment is for two years. He served as Engineer-in-Chief (Transmission System), PSTCL, Patiala, before joining as Director (Technical), PSTCL. After assuming the office, Sood said he would strengthen the PSTCL transmission network. The aim would be to serve the people by providing uninterrupted power supply, he added.

Holiday in Kapurthala

Chandigarh: All government institutions, corporations, boards, educational establishments, excluding those where examinations are being conducted, and other government organisations in Kapurthala subdivision will remain closed on May 23. A spokesperson for the government said the local holiday had been announced in observance of the historic fair of Mata Bhadrakali Ji (Shekhupur).

Support for anti-drug drive

Abohar: BJP state president Sunil Jakhar's nephew and Abohar MLA on Wednesday welcomed Aam Aadmi Party halqa incharge Arun Narang as the latter led "Yudh Nashian Virudh Yatra" to Panjkosi, native place of the Jakhar family, 17 km from here on Tuesday. The MLA said drug menace affected all, so he participated in the government programme.
