BSF, Pakistan Rangers exchange sweets at IB
Amritsar, January 27
Patriotic fervour and a cultural programme by students of colleges and schools marked the 75th Republic Day ahead of the beating retreat ceremony at Attari border near here on Friday.
BSF and Pakistan Rangers exchanged sweets to celebrate the occasion. BSF personnel, led by Commandant Ajay Kumar Mishra, handed over seven boxes of sweets to Pakistan Rangers at the Attari-Wagah joint check post. Pakistan Rangers reciprocated the gesture as its personnel led by Wing Commander Azam gave six boxes of sweets.
Sanjay Gaur, BSF DIG, interacted with jawans to celebrate the occasion.
Answering a media query on the repeated intrusion of Indian airspace by drones believed to be controlled from across the border, he said vigilant jawans of the BSF had shot down 107 drones and seized about 483 kg contraband along the international border in Punjab Frontier during 2023.
He assured all Indians that every jawan of the BSF was carrying out his duty with dedication so that citizens could contribute wholeheartedly in the development of the country.
Students performed gidha, bhangra and other cultural programmes at the border.
