The BSF has seized a drone that was lying abandoned in a farm near Chann Kalan village in the Amritsar sector. In another incident, the police seized a packet of heroin from the fields of Daoke village.
A BSF official said the personnel on duty had intercepted the movement of a suspected drone on the International border in Amritsar district on February 10. Following protocol, the BSF’s Quick Response Team (QRT) tracked the movement of the drone. During an extensive search in the potential dropping zone at around 9.12pm, they retrieved the drone in a partially damaged condition from an agricultural field near Chann Kalan village in the area bordering Pakistan. The drone is a Quadcopter (Model – DJI Mavic 3 Classic, manufactured in China).
In another incident, on the same day, one Sukhbir Singh of Daoke village informed the police that he suspected movement of some suspicious persons in the fields located behind his house during the evening.
Acting on the tip-off, the police team conducted a search operation and found a packet containing 520 grams of heroin. A case under the NDPS Act was registered in the Gharinda police station against the unknown persons.
