Two buses collided near the Gobindgarh village terminal on the Abohar-Malout 2Road due to dense fog. The conductor of the PUNBUS, Jaspal Singh, reported his bus, operating on the Jalandhar-Sriganganagar route, crossed the Gobindgarh flyover at around 3.30 am. Due to the dense fog, the bus continued for about two kilometres before the driver parked it on the roadside. Shortly thereafter, the Orbit Transport bus, travelling at high speed, collided with the rear of the PUNBUS bus.

The impact was severe: the front of the Orbit Transport bus was damaged and the rear of the PUNBUS bus also suffered damage. Baghel Singh, the conductor of the Orbit Transport bus, was injured in the collision and was taken by ambulance to the Civil Hospital.

Upon receiving the news, toll plaza employees arrived at the scene around 5.00 am and worked to restore traffic flow.

Kuldeep, the driver of the Orbit bus, said he was travelling with about 20 passengers. He claimed the collision occurred after the PUNBUS driver made a U-turn near Malout Chowk, causing the crash.
