It initiative aims at igniting women-led agri-enterprises and transforming traditional farming into business success. Applauding efforts of women farmers, self-help groups (SHGs) and rural entrepreneurs present in the event, Bhandari said they were “leaders of change” in Punjab’s evolving agri-based economy.

“The women in Punjab are not just cultivating crops, they are also cultivating ideas, confidence, creativity, and commerce,” she said. The state government would now provide these women with entrepreneurial skills, assess potential markets, e-commerce and also help them secure finance through institutional sources, she added.

“Women farmers will be trained and encouraged to start their own ventures and market their products,” she said.
