Campaign launched to raise awareness on National Day celebrations and protocols
In a bid to revive patriotic fervour and correct common misconceptions, a campaign has been launched to raise awareness about the significance and protocols associated with celebrating National Days, including Republic Day and Independence Day. Led by social and constitutional bodies, the initiative aims to educate the public on the proper observance of these important occasions.
The campaign was inaugurated during Republic Day events organised by both private and government bodies. Surinder Paul Sofat of Ahmedgarh, along with President Venu Gopal Sharma and Secretary Ashok Verma, emphasised the importance of understanding the themes and proper procedures associated with National Day celebrations. Workshops, meetings, and lectures were conducted, and banners highlighting these themes were displayed at various event venues.
Sofat noted that many participants, including organisers of National Day functions, were unaware of the current year’s theme, “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat Aur Vikas,” which highlights India’s cultural heritage and its progress in development.
The campaign also sought to educate the public on the key difference between hoisting and unfurling the Tricolor flag, a concept often misunderstood. The initiative has been met with support from activists and other organisations, who have pledged to host events aimed at spreading awareness.
