Canara bank manager booked for abetment of suicide in Fazilka
A bank manager from Canara Bank in Fazilka has been booked for abetment of suicide following the tragic death of a local man.
Seema Rani, a resident of Gandhi Nagar, Fazilka, has filed a complaint with the City Police, alleging that her husband, Inderjeet Singh, who had been working privately at the Canara Bank’s local branch for the past 7-8 years, took his own life on January 4.
According to Seema Rani’s statement, her husband returned home that evening and told her that the bank manager had been humiliating him in front of staff members for several days.
She claims that this alleged harassment led her husband to consume a poisonous substance, resulting in his death.
In light of the complaint, the bank manager has been charged under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The police are investigating the case further, while the family continues to seek justice for the loss of their loved one.
