Chandigarh: The Punjab Lok Congress headed by Capt Amarinder Singh on Wednesday announced presidents for six more districts — Barnala, Ferozepur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Hoshiarpur, Muktsar and Malerkotla. Meanwhile, former Gidderbaha MLA Raghubir Singh Pardhan formally joined the PLC on Tuesday. TNS

Parties misleading people with fake promises: Dhindsa

Chandigarh: Senior leader of the SAD (Sanyukt) and ex-Finance Minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa Wednesday said the Congress, SAD (B) and other political parties were trying to mislead people by making fake promises instead of making them self-reliant. He said parties were well aware of the fact that the state’s financial condition was in dire straits and not ready for such moves. TNS
