Chandigarh, July 13

The state government today launched a centralised admission portal for its colleges that are affiliated to Panjab University, Punjabi University and Guru Nanak Dev University.

Launching the portal here at the Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration (MGSIPA), Minister for Higher Education and Languages Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer said the state government was working swiftly to ensure that youngsters get latest online services, making their education-related endeavours easier and efficient. The portal, developed by the Department of Governance Reforms (DoGR) in collaboration with the Department of Higher Education (DHE), will ensure transparency and ease, said the minister.

“The DoGR with the assistance of the DHE has made the state admission portal for the current session (2022-23). Further, the DoGR has roped in PayGov India (payment gateway partner) to facilitate digital mode of fee collection from students and its reconciliation,” he added.

The common admission platform for candidates will serve as a central hub for applicants for their end-to-end admission journey and students will be able to file single application form for applying admission in multiple colleges and courses.

The portal will ensure a contactless admission process without a physical counselling. The fee payment system will be online. It will also ensure ease of communication with students via Applications Manager which allows the college to communicate with the applicant directly via an email or individual/bulk SMS or a call to complete the form or to remove the objections.
