A 13-year-old boy was admitted to a hospital after a plastic kite-string, popularly known as ‘China dor,’ cut deep into his neck when he was travelling on a bike.

According to information, Karan, a resident of Seed Farm Colony, who was going to Dharam Nagari, got trapped in the string being used to fly a kite. The people nearby immediately took him to a hospital. The doctor treating him said his condition is out of danger but since the throat and neck was badly cut, surgery had to be performed. It was fortunate that due to the slow speed of the bike, the victim suffered less injury to his neck, he added.

The administration have announced a ban on Chinese string but the incident indicates that shopkeepers are defying the ban by selling the string.
