To expedite the deployment of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at BBMB installations, a team of officials led by its IG will visit Nangal on August 11 and 12 to inspect the preparations being made to house the contingent in the area.
The work for the restoration of houses as per the specifications given by the CISF was being carried out on a war footing. Today also, some CISF officials visited the houses being prepared for the contingent to be posted in the BBMB to brief their senior officials.
Despite opposition by the Punjab Government, the BBMB is going ahead with deployment. The government has now restricted its opposition by saying that it would not give any money to the BBMB for the move. The state contributes about 52 per cent to the budget of the BBMB.
Sources said the CISF personal are going to take over security of Bhakra, Nangal and Pong dams.
