Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann today announced that the state government would celebrate the upcoming 650th ‘Parkash Purb’ of Guru Ravidas in an unprecedented manner.
Addressing a gathering during a state-level function here to observe the 647th ‘Parkash Purb’ of Guru Ravidas, the CM said that he had already asked the officers to ensure foolproof planning for the smooth execution of the event. He said that for this event the entire area around Khuralgarh would be holistically developed in consultation with devotees.
Earlier, he dedicated Guru Ravidas memorial, which has come up at a cost of nearly Rs 143 crore. It comprises a building with tourist facilities, multi-level parking, Minar-e-Begumpura, sangat hall and a state-of-the-art auditorium among others.
The Chief Minister said the state government was bound to ensure the well-being of the poor, for which several path-breaking initiatives were being taken. The state government was empowering the weaker sections of society by imparting quality education.
