CM felicitates 29 Dhuri cooperative societies for 99% loan recovery
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday felicitated all 39 cooperative societies of the Dhuri Circle that have set a new benchmark by recovering more than 90 per cent of loans. While 29 cooperative societies have recovered more than 99 percent of loans, the remaining 10 have recovered more than 90 per cent.
Addressing the gathering at a function organised to commemorate ‘International Year of Cooperatives’ here, the CM said it was a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that the 29 cooperative societies of the Dhuri Circle had set a new benchmark.
The CM further said it was heartening to see that these societies had done exceptional work when most other cooperative societies had failed to recover their outstanding debt. He urged the farmers and others to open their accounts in the cooperative banks which offered three per cent less interest on loans than the other banks.
Meanwhile, the CM today also met panchayats of various villages at Bhullarheri village (Dhuri). Interacting with residents of Bhullarheri, Bhalwan, Dhura, Bhadalwad and Palasaur villages, the CM said the holistic growth of villages was the need of the hour to give further impetus to all-round development of the state.
The CM said in Dhuri block, a grant of Rs 15.61 crore had been released for a total of 196 development works in Bhullarheri, Bhalwan, Palasaur, Dhura and Bhadalwad. He said of these, 115 works had already been completed at a cost of Rs 9.90 crore while 81 costing Rs 5.71 crore were in progress. In addition, he said based on the demand of the five gram panchayats, another grant or sanction of Rs 15.65 crore had been released for 24 more development works.
