Emphasising the importance of peace, love and development on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, he said, “Malerkotla has been blessed by Guru Gobind Singh for eternal peace in reciprocation of Nawab Sher Mohammad Khan’s ‘haan da naara’ in favour of younger Sahibzadas. I assure you that hatred will not be allowed to flourish in the state.”

He appreciated that it was for the first time that such a large congregation of Muslim brethren performed a community prayer for eradication of drug menace from the state. Accusing previous governments of discontinuing public transport service to rural areas, Mann announced that unemployed youngsters would be allotted permits for mini-buses. He said grants worth Rs 150 to 200 crore had been earmarked for development projects, including government medical college, government college for girls, new administrative building and construction of link roads in Malerkotla.
