The delegation also consisting of Rajya Sabha MPs — NCP’s Vandana Chavan, BJD’s Amar Patnaik, Congress’ Vivek Tankha, DMK’s Tiruchi Siva and BJP’s GVL Narsimha Rao — will meet Punjab Governor and UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore, who will host a lunch for the committee.

The panel will hear depositions from chief secretaries of Punjab, Haryana and from the UT Administration on waste management rules apart from meeting with the DGPs. The panel, it is learnt, will also take a briefing on the narcotics situation in the region, before leaving for Kasauli on August 22, where it will assess waste management rule implementation with Himachal Pradesh Government officials. — TNS
