CM to oversee preparations for martyrdom day of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will lead a group of ministers (GoMs) to oversee the smooth conduct of events to commemorate the 350th martyrdom day of ninth master Sri Guru Teg Bahadur in a befitting manner.
A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting chaired by the CM at his official residence on Wednesday. Chairing the meeting, Mann said Guru Teg Bahadur had laid down his life to protect the right of freedom to worship and preserve human and secular values.
The Chief Minister said the Guru’s supreme sacrifice was unique and unparalleled in the history of mankind and symbolised the crusade against tyranny and oppression.
Events across state
The Chief Minister said the state government was duty bound to organise a series of events to observe the 350th martyrdom day of Guru Teg Bahadur on a massive level.
Mann said a series of functions would be organised across the state and comprehensive development of places having the footsteps of the Guru Sahib would be ensured.
