Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Sunday exhorted the youth to follow tenets of Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha and his companion martyrs as elements of their lifestyle and work in tandem for the progress and prosperity of the border state.
He addressed a function at Sarabha’s native village on the occasion of his martyrdom day. He paid tributes
to the martyr while recalling episodes from his life.
He said the AAP government in the state was committed to perpetuating the legacy of martyrs by organising events and raising memorials in their memory.

He claimed that emergence of Punjabi sportspersons as leaders of all major sports in India was the outcome of Punjab Government’s Khedan Watan Punjab Diya campaign. Adequate grants would be provided for development of sports in other villages too, he added.
Mann appealed to the people to reach Sri Anandpur Sahib for participating in the celebration of the 350th martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur from November 23 to 25.
