The minister made the remark during a visit to a drug de-addiction centre at Barnala. The minister said women addicts would be accommodated in separate wards so that they could be treated with dignity.

Giving details about the initiative, he said that a woman panchayat member would be made the president of the 15-member committee while an accredited social health activist (ASHA) would be appointed member-secretary.
