Computer teachers burn copies of AAP 'promises'

Agitating computer teachers today burnt copies of promises, made to them during the past more than two years by ministers of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), in Lohri bonfire outside the District Administrative Complex here.

They also raised slogans against the state government for not fulfilling their demands, including shifting of computer teachers from Punjab Information and Communication Technology Education Society to the Education Department, Punjab.

Meanwhile, the relay fast by two computer teachers today entered the 135th day while the indefinite fast by Ranjit Singh, a computer teacher, entered its 11th day. The computer teachers have been agitating since September 1, 2024, outside the DAC here.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
