Former MLA from Ferozepur (Rural) Satkar Kaur Gehri was today arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) on charges of drug peddling.

Following intelligence inputs, the STF and the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) reportedly laid a trap by sending a “decoy” customer to Gehri today. When she reached the designated spot to allegedly supply the consignment, the STF team caught her red-handedly. One policeman was hurt while trying to apprehend Gehri as she tried to flee. She was, however, arrested by the police.

Sukhchain Singh Gill, IG (Headquarters), said the STF seized 100 gm “chitta” from the spot. During a search at Gehri’s house, 38 gm “chitta” and Rs 1.56 lakh in cash were seized, the IG added.
