As a breakfast meeting of the Congress MLAs at the Ropar residence of senior party leader and former Speaker Rana KP Singh took political overtones, some of the legislators held a meeting at the residence of party leader
Brinder Dhillon.
As per an internal party letter issued by the office of CLP leader Partap Bajwa, all Congress MLAs were asked to assemble at Rana’s house before they went to pay obeisance at Takht Kesgarh Sahib and Kiratpur Sahib, and then to attend the special session at Anandpur Sahib. Rana said there was nothing to read from the breakfast meeting at his place. “Being a leader from Anandpur Sahib, I had invited the MLAs at my place,” he said.
After the session, some of the MLAs also held a meeting at Dhillon’s residence and criticised the AAP government for wasting funds from the state exchequer for conducting the special session.
However, underplaying the meeting at his residence, Dhillon said the meeting was called to discuss problems of Ropar district in light of the government events being held at Anandpur Sahib.
