Tarn Taran, February 16
The Patti police have booked Lakhbir Singh, alias Kala of Kirtowal, a close aide of MLA Harminder Singh Gill, and four Congressmen for allegedly attacking AAP workers during polling on Sunday.
A case under Section 307, 148 and 149 of the IPC, and Sections 25, 27, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act was registered on Monday after a video that had gone viral.
Manbir Singh, AAP worker of Bhikhiwind, claimed that he received bullet injuries.
AAP leader Laljit Singh Bhullar was also allegedly tortured and was admitted to a hospital in Amritsar.
The police, in the FIR, had written that Manbir was not ready to record his statement. Dhruman H Nimbale, SSP, has denied any incident of firing in Patti. The police have not arrested any accused yet. — OC
