Ludhiana West bypoll: Cong's Ashu owns Rs 7.52-cr assets, SAD’s Ghuman Rs 5.39 cr
Congress candidate Bharat Bhushan Ashu and Shiromani Akali Dal nominee Parupkar Singh Ghuman today filed their nomination papers for the Ludhiana West bypoll, scheduled on June 19.
Both Pradesh Congress Committee chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring and Ashu were seen together after a long time, thus putting up a united front. Even Amethi MP Kishori Lal Sharma was present on the occasion.
Warring expressed confidence that Ashu would win the seat. He appealed to the rank and file of the party to work wholeheartedly like they were fighting their personal election. Taking a dig at the Opposition, Ashu said, “Our president is standing with us, now let AAP and the BJP tell us, where are their state presidents?”
Ghuman, who took out a roadshow before filling his papers, was flanked by SAD working president Balwinder Singh Bhunder and Daljit Singh Cheema.
Ghuman said, “Punjabis have seen real face of AAP in the past 3 years.”
