Cop assaulted in clash between migrant workers

A violent mob attacked police personnel who had arrived to intervene in a scuffle between migrant workers in Mohalla Sunder Nagar. The incident occurred when three police officers were dispatched to the area after receiving reports of the altercation.

Upon their arrival, the officers attempted to defuse the situation but were met with aggression from the mob. One officer, who was in civilian clothing, had his clothes torn, and the officers were forced to flee to save their lives.

A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media. Following the attack, Post In-charge Purhiran arrived with additional police forces. DSP Devdutt Sharma confirmed that the police had received information about the fight and that the officers were assaulted by the mob. He mentioned that a man and a woman from the group had been identified, and action was being taken against others involved.

During this, an elderly woman was severely injured and was admitted to the Civil Hospital. Relatives of the woman alleged that police had previously struck her with sticks, leading to her injuries.
