A large number of Communist Party of India (CPI) activists, along with villagers, staged a protest outside the office of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Fazilka today, demanding action against police “inaction” in various cases.

Hans Raj Golden, Secretary of CPI’s Fazilka unit, and Surinder Dhandian, State representative of Kul Hind Kisan Sabha, addressed the gathering, accusing the police of neglecting numerous cases of atrocities against innocent people. The CPI leaders claimed they had repeatedly raised the issues with concerned officers both personally and through memoranda, but no action had been taken. They alleged that the accused were moving freely in society without fear of repercussions.

The protesters highlighted several specific incidents. One example cited was the alleged attack in Suresh Wala Senia village, where the accused reportedly broke the legs of both men and women. The CPI leaders claimed that instead of taking action against the perpetrators, an FIR was registered against the victims.

Among the other demands were the cancellation of what they called false FIRs in Neolan village, action against the accused in the Jhangar Bhaini village case, amendments in the case from Nawa Mumbe Ki village, the cancellation of a false sand mining case in Miani Basti, and the resolution of ongoing issues in the villages of Bakhu Shah and Alam Ke.

Prominent figures like Subegh Singh Jhangar Bhaini, Harbhajan Chhapriwala, Narinder Singh Dhaban, Krishan Dharmuwala, Jammu Ram Banwala, Stri Sabha leader Sushma Rani, Satish Chhapriwala, and others also participated in the protest and addressed the crowd.
