The CPI activists today lifted the blockade after a case was registered against the persons who had allegedly snatched and torn nomination papers of opponent aspirants in Jalalabad.

Hans Raj Golden, district secretary, CPI, who was leading the protest for the past three days, said AAP activists had torn the nomination papers of rival candidates.

As the administration did not pay heed, a dharna was staged on the highway, said Punjab Kisan Sabha leader Ashok Kamboj.

Golden said a case had been registered against AAP supporters who belong to Chak Sohna Sandar village.

The district administration also assured us of acting sternly against three police personnel who had allegedly provided shelter to the suspects, said Kamboj.
